Plans are still on track to deliver the new station in 2017 with passenger services starting later next year, despite delays to the national double-tracking and electrification programme.
Once operational, Kenilworth Rail Station will still offer the same service to the public, connecting the town to Leamington Spa and Coventry via a regular shuttle train service.
There’ll be a number of different site works taking place over the coming weeks as preparations are made for the main station building works. These will include sewer diversion works as well as utility and drainage works. There will be no road closures as a result of these works and disruption to residents should be minimal.
The Public Right of Way across the site will be temporarily closed in September (dates to be confirmed) to enable repainting of the bridge. Warwickshire County Council apologise in advance for any inconvenience this may cause and will aim to get the right of way re-opened as quickly as possible.
